Happy Halloween!!!

So I've made an executive decision...  for the next two weeks I can't post on Tuesdays :)  It's too hard for me with coming home, getting everyone situated, feeding them, heading out the door and then doing the nighttime routine when we get back home.  I'm just worn out.  Abie has two more weeks of games and then I'm hoping to be back to five days a week of posting.  I had something to post yesterday, I just didn't get my post up.

On to today!  It's Wednesday and that means sharing with tons of crafters what we have on our workdesks!  I'm linking up over at THE STAMPING GROUND!!

Check out this beautiful mess!  It's what's left from my gratitude journal over the weekend.  And in case you were wondering...  I was all set to go with the pocket idea that MARY PAT had thought of!  It was genius!  Then I was driving home from work and I had another idea that I think I'm going to try out.  We'll see if it works :)

Thanks for popping in today to check out my desk and I'll see you soon.  Hope you have a great Halloween.  Mike will be taking our Pirate and our Witch around the neighborhood tonight while I stay home and pass out the goodies.  Have a safe night!

Morning everyone.  I hope you had a great weekend :)  Today I have a question for you, needing some help here.

On Friday I posted a picture of a project I was working on, and I finished it, for the most part, over the weekend.  But I'm not sure how to attach it all together.

It's a little gratitude journal and my initial thought was I would punch a hole in the tops of all the pages, or in the upper left hand corner and run a piece of ribbon through.  But, as you can see, some of my stamping would be punched through and I really don't want to mess that particular stamping up.  I have to be careful binding it on the sides, because this is only 2 3/4" wide and that would take away from the journaling I plan on doing.  Any suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!!  :)

I hope you have a beautiful Monday.  Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see you tomorrow!

Friday!!

Morning everyone!  Are you happy it's Friday?  I am :)  Training is over and I'm so glad to be back to my normal routine today.  I am definitely a creature of habit.

Since I didn't get to share my workdesk on Wednesday, I thought I would show you what it looks like right now.

I used my new mask!!  I've got the beginnings of a little something here...  We'll see if I can get it finished :)  right KATIE?  Haha!

I ran to Archiver's again yesterday.  They were having a BIG sale.  Right?  I'm sure you got the email.  Well, not so much.  I picked up a few things, but spent like $14.  I'm really more excited to run by Big Lots this weekend and look for the Thickers that CHRISTINA talked about the other day!  I hope mine has some!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and a fantastic Friday.  Thanks for stopping in today and I'll chat with you soon :)

Silver lining.

So, do you want to know the silver lining to the three day training?  I mean besides day four when it's over?  Archiver's.  Archiver's is the silver lining.  It's about five minutes from where the training location is (45 minutes from my house).  Guess where I went yesterday???  :)

I picked up several different reindeer stamps while I wandered through the store but ended up with this one.  I've bought this brand of stamps before too, and didn't care for them, but thought I might like the rubber cling stamps.  Let's hope!  I'll keep you posted!

Sorry about the blurry photo :(  I thought these would make fun, quick and simple Christmas tags.  I love to make my Christmas tags every year, but at the rate I've been going lately I don't think I'm going to have a ton of time this year to devote to the project.  Enter these stamps!

There was so much paper to choose from.  Paper overload.  I'm so behind on what's what and what's new.  I give up anymore and just buy what I like :)  I keep it around for so long, by the time I use it it's not "new" anymore anyway.  Ha!  Anyway, I loved this Christmas line from MME and these fun enamel dots that were hanging right next to it.

Gah!  Look at these stamps!  I LOVE them!!!!  Perfect for Project Life, 3x3 cards, regular cards, tags, um can you guys think of anything else?  I just keep staring at them!

Finally, I picked up my first mask.  I know, I know, but remember what I said about not keeping up with things?  I'm really excited about this!

This was my first big shopping trip in LONG, long time and it was a quick one, but I'm pretty happy with my purchases.  What have you picked up lately, or what's on your list?

Thanks for stopping in today.  It's been another crazy week here.  The girls are out of school the next two days and couldn't be more excited about it.  We have not plans tonight and I couldn't be more excited about that!  Haha!  Have a beautiful day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Purple thank you.

Morning!  I have a quick and easy thank you card to share today, with more of that fun glitter :)

I embossed the sentiment with some blueish sparkly powder, it looks pretty cool in person :)  and added a strip of that cool glitter!

Here's a picture of the glitter I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  It was $4.99 for the container.

I'm starting a three day training today, ugh.  I'm not sure how they're going to drag this particular topic out to three days...  I'm usually looking forward to our trainings, hopefully this one will end up being interesting!  The girls have parent teacher conference this afternoon.  I'm going to have to miss those because of the training :(  Then after that they're going to the book fair and on to get flu shots.  A busy afternoon/evening!

Hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow!!

Halloween Card

So do you ever picture a card in your mind, you're totally inspired and excited and then it turns out... like, hmm, well, less than desirable?

Enter my card.

I had great visions for this card.  Knew I wanted to use the glittered accents, loved the papers and colors, was completely inspired, but am just way disappointed by the way this turned out.  Does that ever happen to you?  Ha!

Did you have a good weekend?  This were great here.  Good weather, very productive around the house and lots of time spent with Mike and the girls.  We have another busy week ahead of us here, but all good things :)  Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you have a beautiful Monday!  See you tomorrow!!

Fall Front

Hello Friday!  Boy am I happy to see you!  Today I want to share the fall card front I was working on the other day.

I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder, love how deeply these emboss, and then went and covered up most of it with that great music paper ;)  I picked up a piano book full of sheet music at an antique store for just a couple of dollars a year or so ago and it's going the distance!  Then I embellished with some Michael's leaves and added a ribbon.  I must say, tying a ribbon on these card fronts is MUCH easier than on a whole card...

We don't have any plans tonight and I am really looking forward to that.  After being gone every night this week, I'm ready to stay at home!  Tomorrow morning we're getting our pictures taken, for a fundraiser :), and then running errands.  I'm hoping for a low key weekend the rest of the time though.  What's on your weekend agenda?

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a beautiful Friday and great weekend.  See you soon :)

Card Fronts

Thursday, seriously.  This week has just flown by here.  We have had an activity every night this week and tonight was going to be our first night at home, but then we got word that Abie was chosen to give a presentation at the School Board meeting tonight!!!  I can't think of a better way to spend the night.  So proud of her.  She's having an amazing year, her last year in grade school.

Yesterday I mentioned that I was working on some card fronts.  It's just a piece of card stock, cut to the size of a card, I made mine 4" by 5 1/4", that you decorate.  When you're ready to mail or give the card, you adhere it to your card base.  The card fronts are easier to store and some people like to do card fronts in exchanges with other people.

This was my first time "doing" card fronts and I really kind of liked it.  It was definitely easier dealing with the ribbon tying, that's for sure!

I had some leftover kraft cardstock that I trimmed downed and I adhered a scrap piece of graph paper to it.  Then I trimmed out a couple of Hero Arts/Basic Grey stamped flowers in some fun colors and popped them up with some foam dots.

My favorite part about this card is this FUN glitter.  I picked it up at Hobby Lobby last week and I just love it!  I put down a piece of sticky tape and sprinkled on this coarse glitter.  Isn't it great??

Thanks for stopping in today.  I'll be back tomorrow with another card front.  Hope you have a wonderful Thursday :)

WOYWW

Hey there!  We've been busy around here, volleyball games on Monday night and Landry's Kindergarten program last night.  Makes for not a lot of crafting/blogging time :)  I wasn't very productive over the weekend either, I'm afraid.  Mike was out of town and when he got back we took the girls to a movie and just spent some time together.  Again, not a lot of time for crafting :)

I am happy to be linking up today with JULIA over at the Stamping Ground to show you what is on my workdesk.

I'm using some of those fun Michael's leaves and finishing up a fall card front.  How do you feel about card fronts?  I'm going to post about them tomorrow :)

Hope you have a great Wednesday.  I'll chat with you tomorrow.  Thanks for popping in today!

Mini card

Friday!!!!  Morning all!  I'm so happy it's Friday.  Today is going to be a great day.  First, it's Friday.  Second, I get to go on a super fun field trip with Abie and third, MIKE COMES HOME TONIGHT!!  He's been out of town for work and I can't wait to see him tonight :)

Today I want to share with you a little mini card I made.  I picked up a package of these 2 3/4x 2 3/4 cards at Michaels.

They were $.50 in the clearance bin!!

I covered the front with paper, added one of my sticky labels and rounded the corners!  Now I have the perfect lunchbox card or gift card and an envelope to match.

Do you have plans this weekend?  I think we're going to take the girls to a movie tomorrow and then need to be back home to have the furnace cleaned.  Other than that, we're planning on staying around the house.

I hope you have a beautiful Friday and a lovely weekend.  Thanks for stopping in to see me today.  I'll chat with you later!!

Birthday gift card bag.

Good morning!  I know I've posted these little bags before, but I just love them!

I stamped on the bag with a fun sunburst and then simply added a doily that I decorated with one of my new labels!  I added a mini clothespin to keep the gift card inside.  Super quick and easy :)

Tonight is McTeacher night for the school, so the girls are thrilled.  It means I don't have to cook.  Ha!  I am looking forward to the weekend though...  Have a great Thursday and I'll see you tomorrow.  Thanks for popping in today :)

I can't believe it's already Wednesday!  Monday flew by so fast that, would believe, I forgot to blog yesterday!  Then Tuesday was such a blur that before I knew it, I was looking at Wednesday!  Today I'm linking up over at JULIA'S BLOG to share what I have on my workdesk.

It's really quite the disaster, for me anyway :)  I usually tidy up after each and every project.  I have been on a roll and have been working on several projects, one after the other, and just pushing supplies out of the way to start on the next one.  Rather unlike me, but I have to say, THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!  Haha!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow with another project.  Have a wonderful Wednesday :)

Halloween Girl

Hello there!  I hope you had a great weekend :)  Today I want to share my finished card from Friday that I was working on.

I finished coloring my image and didn't quite like the way things were turning out, so I scrapped that one.  I started over and like the way this one was going much better!  I even paper pieced her dress!  This was my first time paper piecing!  I don't know why I hesitated for so long, it was so easy :)

It took me awhile to find a die that would be big enough to work with this image, it's pretty big!  I ended up using the Top Note die from Stampin' Up!  Then I adhered the whole image to some purple paper, even though it looks like blue in the picture.

Since there was no sentiment on the outside, I stamped one on the inside!

That's it for me today.  Hope you have a great Monday.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you back here tomorrow!!

A couple of new stamps.

Friday, woot woot!  I really felt like yesterday should have been Friday and was so disappointed when it wasn't.  Really bummed when that happens.  But today actually is Friday and I'm so happy about that!

Today I'm going to share a couple of new stamps that I picked up recently and that I'm working with right now.

The one on the left I picked up made me think of Tracy :)  She can do the most amazing things with Copics.  What do you think Tracy?  I don't have Copics, I'm just working on this one with my Bics, but I still love it.  The other stamp, on the right is this awesome peacock feather that I saw on Stephanie Howell's blog a couple of weeks ago.  I also bought some cool new embossing powder.  After I stamped and embossed the image I thought, hmm now what am I going to do with it?  It's not really something I can cut out.  I'm going to have to work with this stamp a little bit more.

So Mike and I are going out tonight!!  We have found ourselves an awesome girl to watch our girls and it's, well, awesome!  Tomorrow is homecoming for the town we live in and the girls have the option to walk in the parade for the school, so we might do that or just go to the parade.  Then Abie has a birthday party and Mike and I have something fun planned for Landry, just the three of us.  What are your plans this weekend?

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!  See you soon!!

Labels!!

Morning!  Hope you're having a good week, even though we're almost done!!  It is weekend eve after all :)

Yesterday I shared some labels I was working on.  A couple of weeks ago, Michelle Wooderson posted the cutest labels that she embellished.  Hers were some October Afternoon label stickers.  The OA label stickers I have are more springy so I opted to use some plain mailing labels and embellish those.

I cut the labels apart and then stamped on them with some fun fall colors using various background stamps.  Then I pulled out my punches, buttons and twine and went to work.  When it's time to make some cards, I'll have these fun labels ready to use!  I have found that having these homemade, pre-made embellishments are something that I use a lot.  Love having a stash of stuff like this around.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a fantastic Thursday and I'll see you tomorrow.

WOYWW

Hey strangers!  How you doing this fine Wednesday??  Things are busy here and I didn't have time to post the last couple of days, but I'm linking up today at JULIA'S BLOG, THE STAMPING GROUND to share what I'm working on.

I'm using my new to me MME paper pad, Sunshine, still :)  Loving this!  I saw on Michelle Wooderson's blog a couple of weeks ago where she took some October Afternoon labels and embellished them.  So I have taken some plain labels and am embellishing them!  I'm having a lot of fun working on these.

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow with my finished labels!  Have a great Wednesday :)
